Mattress Firm Supports fight against Pancreatic Cancer Scottsdale, AZ • November 30, 2009
Mattress Firm and Protect-A-Bed have partnered during the month of November to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. During National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month, a portion of the proceeds for each mattress protector sold at Mattress Firm locations is donated to the foundation.
Pancreatic Cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer related deaths in the United States. Unfortunately, the discovery of new cases is rising instead of falling. Pancreatic Cancer has the highest mortality rate of any of the major cancers with only 5% of those affected surviving longer than five years. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a nationwide network of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer (pancan.org).
Mattress Firm and Protect-A-Bed will donate money raised at the Seena Magowitz Celebrity Golf Classic. In addition, Mattress Firm will sponsor several prizes for 6 of the par-3 holes during the event. Prizes range from a NASCAR experience to a 4 day trip to Las Vegas, to a $10,000 grand prize! The festivities begin on December 4, 2009 at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ. A dinner honors major sponsors, with entertainment provided by jazz artist Jesse McGuire. The celebrity golf classic begins at 8:30 am the next morning, followed by the awards luncheon at 2:00 pm.
“Mattress Firm is proud to contribute to such a worthy cause.
