Buy a Dream. Give a Dream.

What helps you sleep at night? Perhaps it's the satisfaction of a hard day's work, doing what you love, or knowing that your children are tucked safely in bed each night. For me, it's all of the above, but this feeling is magnified on days when I've been able to give my time and energy to helping others or a cause I care about. There's no better feeling than going to bed at night knowing you've helped someone else get a good night's rest, too.

Buy A Dream Bed, Give A Dream Bed To Those In Need

This is one of the many reasons why I love my job. In addition to donating time and resources as a company, Mattress Firm has always encouraged its employees to give their time and energy to causes they are passionate about. The Mattress Firm Family of Brands has a long history of corporate social responsibility and giving back to the community. We recently set out to develop a superior bed in a box product to solve a specific need of our customers, and saw a better way to do it that involves helping those in need. Our newest product, The Dream Bed, is not really a new concept at all; we're selling high-quality "bed in a box" mattresses online for a great price to consumers who don't have time to come into our stores and try out different beds. What's different about our Dream Bed is what helps me sleep at night: for every Dream Bed sold, we're donating one to a child or family in need. The benefit is thus two-fold - consumers who purchase a Dream Bed, can sleep better knowing they've helped someone in need do the same. As the nation's largest specialty mattress retailer, it is Mattress Firm's responsibility to deliver a good night's sleep to those who need it most, and we saw an opportunity with The Dream Bed.

Sending Out Our Dream Team To Local Communities In Need

To celebrate the launch we are donating mattresses, sending our " Dream Team" to local communities to donate Dream Beds to those in need of a good night's sleep. Last month they brought 50 Dream Beds to the Mary Jo Copeland Shelter in Minnesota, cleaning the counters, bathrooms and floors of the new rooms in preparation for residents. The team also visited Simpson Housing Services to make sandwiches and bagged lunches for residents, after donating 55 mattress sets. They have another similar mattress donation and giving event planned this month!

I am grateful and proud to be a part of this team, and to be able to give the gift of a good night's sleep, something that is so important to our health and is often taken for granted. This is one of my proudest moments as a Mattress Firm employee and I sleep better at night knowing that we are helping others do the same.
