5 Signs Your Relationship Has Entered the Comfort Zone

/com·fort zone/noun

  1. a place or situation where one feels safe or at ease and without stress.

Whether you’re freshly dating or been going steady for awhile, one of the most important factors in a successful relationship is level of comfort. While we often talk about “stepping outside of your comfort zone,” comfort can actually be a sign of a good relationship. Whether it’s personal conversations about family or simply not feeling the need to look nice when you’re around each other, every couple is different when it comes to entering a comfortable relationship.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’ve been wondering about what we consider signs of a good relationship and what changes when couples enter the comfort zone.

Mattress Firm partnered with OnePoll to survey 2,000 coupled up Americans to see how they define comfort in their relationship and how long it takes to reach the point at which they are truly comfortable around each other.

According to the survey, the top signs you’ve entered the comfort zone are:

  1. Letting your partner see or take care of you when you’re sick
  2. Not wearing make-up around the other
  3. Crying in front of each other
  4. Snoring while you/your partner sleeps
  5. Showering at the other’s place

Not quite there yet? Don’t fret – our survey shows just how long it takes to get to some of the most important relationship milestones:
