8 Night Routine Mistakes Everyone Makes!

I’m back for week number two of my four-week partnership with Mattress Firm! This week, we're continuing the conversation around sleep by shedding light on things you can do to improve your quality of sleep.
In this video, I’m bringing you up to speed on the 8 Night Routine Mistakes Everyone Makes and trust me, you're going to be pretty surprised when you learn what they are – I know I was.

MISTAKE: It’s not that big of a deal to sleep on an older mattress. After all these years, it’s never let me down! Why fix something that’s not broken?
SOLUTION: Most don't realize the amount of sweat, dust, and dead skin cells (EW!) that accumulate in your bed over the years. Not only that, but your body changes too – what felt comfortable 8 years ago may not be comfortable today! Check your mattress tag. Is the date past the 8-year mark? If the answer is "yes," it's time to get a new mattress!
MISTAKE: They’re called nightcaps for a reason, right?
SOLUTION: It is a common misconception that drinking alcohol before bed will actually help you get a better night’s sleep. I hate to burst your bubble, but while alcohol may help you fall asleep every now and then, it also interferes with your overall sleep quality and worsens any existing sleep disorders.
