David Onufer is Mattress Firm’s Internal Communications Director. His team informs employees and helps them effectively communicate to support business objectives.

Before to joining Mattress Firm in 2018, David held communications leadership roles at Stewart Title, Dynegy and Direct Energy. Prior to these organizations, he had a long, successful career in Houston radio as a Program Director and On-Air Talent with iHeartMedia.

At Mattress Firm, David leads communication strategy and execution for internal audiences, as well as well as corporate giving efforts including the company’s signature charitable organization, Mattress Firm Foster Kids. He partners with department leaders to drive company culture, developing strategies and create content to support employee needs across the company.

He received his B.A. in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin and has a background in public relations, business and broadcasting. David resides in Houston with his wife and three children.
