Mattress Firm Hosts Book Fairs for Local Foster Children

For many of us, the annual book fair at school is a childhood memory we cherish. From the anticipation we felt for our chance to pick the perfect book to the absolute joy we experienced when looking through some of the newest and coolest posters, pencils, and more, the school book fair was an exciting time and something most will never forget.

To create that same experience for local foster children, Mattress Firm hosted a book fair in both Austin and Atlanta. By partnering with  Ticket to Dream and  EcoMedia, we were able to create a unique and fun way to share the gift of a great bedtime story.

At the “Oh, The Places You'll Go Book Fairs" each child who attended was provided with his/her own copy of  Oh, The Places You'll Go and given fake money to “purchase" books and stationary items of their choice.

Austin Book Fair

In Austin we partnered with local non-profit,  Austin Angels, to help bring this activation to life, and attendees enjoyed Dr. Seuss balloons, a cotton candy station, barbecue provided by local favorite Pok-e-Jo's and Austin's best DJ. Attendees also participated in dance contests, yard games and a fun photo booth!

Atlanta Book Fair

In Atlanta, we partnered with local non-profit  Bloom Our Youth to make this event possible. In peak Atlanta heat, attendees showed their support for  Mattress Firm Foster Kids by enjoying King of Pops popsicles , Chick-fil-A and DJ Kevin of Hat Trick Entertainment. From the karaoke contests to exciting yard games and a moon bounce, attendees had hours of fun. Freddie Falcon even stopped by to get in on the action!

At Mattress Firm, we know just how important a  good bedtime routine is to a child's physical and mental development, and we believe that every foster child deserves a great bedtime story to make them feel safe and secure each night. That's why we're honored to support Austin Angels and Bloom Our Youth with the "Oh The Places You'll Go Book Fairs."
