To show their love and support for children and families fighting every day battles, Mattress Firm partnered with Bert's Big Adventure to sponsor their annual trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. An Atlanta-based non-profit organization, Bert's Big Adventure provides an all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World for families with children facing chronic and terminal illnesses. Through a trip to Disney World, families receive the opportunity to embark on an adventure together, and children can let their imagination roam from their daily hospital visits during their visit to the happiest place on earth.
To support Bert's Big Adventure with their trip, Mattress Firm sponsored the 2019 Walt Disney World adventure. From February 20 through 25, families enjoyed a vacation full of fun, excitement and fantasy as they explored all the Disney parks and Hollywood Studios. When many of these families' lives revolve around medical care for their child and worries about their health, this trip to Disney World is a welcome distraction from all of life's greatest challenges.
To kick off the trip, Chris Conklin, Mattress Firm District Manager for East Atlanta, surprised families at their first dinner, by announcing that Mattress Firm would also be donating more than 20 new beds to the parents and children on the trip.
“Mattress Firm is amazing to do this for us! Thank you so much! We are forever grateful!" said Claire Johnson, who received a king and full mattress for her family.
At Mattress Firm, we know that children need a good night's sleep to support their rapid mental and physical development, but most of all, we know that a bed can provide comfort and stability for children as they sleep each night. That's why we are honored to be able to support Bert's Big Adventure and these more than deserving families.
