Best Full Pillow Top Mattresses of 2026

A full pillow top mattress combines the space-saving size of a full mattress with an added layer of plush comfort for a softer, more cushioned feel. This guide highlights the best full pillow top mattresses based on user review ratings, making it easier to compare highly rated options and find the right balance of comfort, support and value for your bedroom.

What to look for in full pillow top mattresses

The best full pillow top mattress for you should combine plush comfort with the support, materials and size that fit your sleep needs.

1. Comfort And Firmness

Pillow top mattresses add a layer of cushioning for a softer, more plush feel. Consider your preferred firmness and sleep position to find a mattress that feels comfortable without sacrificing support.

2. Support System

Look for a supportive coil or foam design that helps promote even weight distribution and a stable sleep surface. Zoned support may offer additional reinforcement where your body needs it most.

3. Materials And Temperature

The pillow top’s materials can affect how the mattress feels and how well it regulates temperature. Breathable covers, cooling foams and individually wrapped coils may help create a more comfortable sleep environment.

4. Full Mattress Size And Compatibility

A full mattress typically measures 54 inches wide by 75 inches long, making it a practical choice for one sleeper or a cozy fit for two. Check the mattress height, foundation requirements and sheet depth to make sure it works with your current bed frame and bedding.

What materials are used in pillow top mattresses? + -

Pillow top mattresses may feature materials such as memory foam, gel foam, latex or fiber fill. Each material offers a different feel, from contouring and pressure-relieving to responsive and buoyant.

Are pillow top mattresses available in different firmness levels? + -

Yes. Pillow top mattresses can range from plush to firm, depending on the cushioning layers and support system beneath the surface. Reviewing the firmness description can help you find a feel that matches your comfort preferences.

Which sleeping positions work well with a pillow top mattress? + -

Pillow top mattresses are often chosen by side sleepers who enjoy a cushioned surface. Back and stomach sleepers may prefer a model with firmer support, while combination sleepers can look for a balance of cushioning and responsiveness.

Use a breathable mattress protector, rotate the mattress if the manufacturer recommends it and follow the care instructions for the specific model. Avoid folding or bending the mattress unless the manufacturer says it is designed for that use.
